We now provide endoscopy at Animal Emergency & Critical Care of Lynchburg, which is carried out by veterinarians. This enables us to examine the gastrointestinal issues of our patients directly and collect microscopic samples of aberrant tissue from within the GI tract. The actual process is minimally invasive and doesn’t call for an overnight hospital stay or surgery. It includes inserting a tiny camera or scope through the mouth and guiding it through the digestive system. The removal of foreign objects from the stomach and esophagus can also be done with this approach. We are the only practice in the area that performs endoscopy.
